United Nations Economic and Social Commission for Western Asia (UNESCWA)

The Climate Change and Natural Resource Sustainability Cluster at ESCWA works to advance climate action and integrated management of natural resources, with a specific focus on water, energy and food security in the Arab region. Under the Natural Resources sustainability focus area, ESCWA works with its member States on building an integrated approach for the management of water resources to sustainably meet the needs of current and future generations. ESCWA provides technical assistance to its member States in accessing science-based knowledge resources to support informed policymaking. By promoting regional and subregional cooperation around the Sustainable Development Goals, ESCWA is building an integrated approach for the management of water resources.
ESCWA priority working areas include transboundary water resources cooperation, IWRM groundwater, and improving resilience of water resources to climate change.
