Webinar on global and national synthesis reporting

SR2018-executive-summary

To track progress towards the 2030 Agenda on Sustainable Development, United Nations Member States are meeting every year at the High-level Political Forum for Sustainable Development (HLPF). In 2018, SDG 6 on water and sanitation was one of the goals reviewed in-depth by the HLPF.

To support Member States in reviewing progress toward this goal, UN-Water produced the ‘SDG 6 Synthesis Report 2018 on Water and Sanitation’, a joint position from the UN family on the global status on SDG 6 and on other water-related targets. The report builds on baseline data for SDG 6 global indicators and explores the linkages between SDG 6 targets and the interlinkages between SDG 6 and the other global targets and indicators.

In a webinar in December 2018 targeted to country official involved in water and sanitation monitoring, the key messages from the Synthesis Report, their implication at the national level, and the added value of national level synthesis reporting were discussed. The webinar also included two case study from a Brazil and Kenya, who explained their process for producing national-level reports on SDG 6.

All presentations from the webinar including the country case studies are available here.
