United Nations Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific (UNESCAP)

ESCAP provides support on the follow-up and review of SDG 6 at the regional level and promotes regional cooperation on water by facilitating related intergovernmnetal processes, enabling coordination among key actors in the water sector, developing knowledge products, and providing technical support and capacity building to its member States. Among the key areas of focus are (a) enhancing climate adaptation capacity and resilience with particular reference to water (b) facilitating scientific collaboration  and data sharing, environmental monitoring, disaster risk reduction and early warning systems to address water-related climate risk, and (c) promoting cooperation on climate resilience.
