UN-Water Annual Report 2019

AR2019

Throughout 2019, UN-Water has supported the attempts to reinvigorate the Resident Coordinator system, as well as the new generation of UN Country Teams. By providing access to expertise, technical assistance and advocacy support, UN-Water will advance progress on water and sanitation in a number of pilot countries starting in 2020.

In a major achievement, the SDG 6 Data Portal as the flagship product of UN-Water’s Integrated Monitoring Initiative was launched. The portal brings together comparable water-related data on all the SDG 6 global indicators and other key social, economic and environmental parameters.

The UN-Water Inventory was also launched, providing an overview of the collective work done. By increasing transparency, this information will aid coordination and collaboration to harness synergies and accelerate progress on SDG 6.

At the end of 2019, the UN leadership asked the UN family to kickstart the Decade of Action to deliver the SDGs by 2030. This involves mobilizing and leveraging the reach of the broader system and the country teams. In response, UN-Water will coordinate the SDG 6 Global Acceleration Framework to amplify our efforts.

UN-Water Publications

UN-Water’s publications can be divided into two main groups: the publications that represent all Members and Partners of UN-Water – the collective products – and the publications that are under the UN-Water umbrella but produced by groups or individual UN-Water Members and/or Partners – the related products.
