Facilitating the Presence of Youth Voices in Global Forums

Through this action, the World Youth Parliament for Water (WYPW) ensures youth representation and active engagement in high-level global water forums, with constant support and facilitation by the International Secretariat for Water (ISW). The WYPW has a network spanning over 80 countries, including 30+ regional and local chapters, creating a vast pool of young water professionals and experts ready to contribute to global dialogues on water. Through its General Assembly, held every three years in conjunction with the World Water Forum (WWF), the WYPW brings 60-80 young representatives from around the world to participate in person to this process, receive training, and advocate for youth priorities and perspectives in water governance. They represent thousands of youths in their respective communities and are then able to bring back the knowledge and tools gathered through these experiences back to the local level.

United Nations System-wide Strategy for Water and Sanitation

The Contributing Actions are key initiatives supporting the United Nations System-wide Strategy for Water and Sanitation, aligning individual and joint efforts across UN entities and partnering organizations to advance global water and sanitation goals. These actions are integrated into the Collaborative Implementation Plan (CIP) Results Framework 2025-2028, which provides a structured approach to achieving system-wide impact through coordinated UN efforts.
The Priority Collaborative Actions outlined in the framework focus on enhancing water security, improving governance, strengthening climate resilience, and accelerating progress on sanitation and hygiene. By fostering system-wide collaboration among UN agencies, these actions help drive policy coherence, knowledge sharing, and innovative solutions to address the world’s most pressing water challenges.
