Normative Support on water-related disasters and transboundary cooperation

UNDRR provides normative support through the Words into Action (WiA), which are thematic guides for the implementation of the Sendai Framework and the integration of disaster risk management in specific areas. The overall objective of the WiA guides is to help engage the DRR community by facilitating access to concise and practical information that is readily accessible for global, local and in-the-field use. This includes the "Words into Action guidelines: Implementation guide for addressing water-related disasters and transboundary cooperation", which supports the implementation of SDGs 6, 11, 13 and 15.

The Contributing Actions are key initiatives supporting the United Nations System-wide Strategy for Water and Sanitation, aligning individual and joint efforts across UN entities and partnering organizations to advance global water and sanitation goals.
