The report addresses the growing demand for accurate climate data to inform policy, measure progress, and engage stakeholders.

The publication highlights how official statistics can aid in reporting under the Paris Agreement, supporting climate change mitigation and adaptation efforts, including integrated water resources management, and measuring climate-related financial flows. It provides practical recommendations for enhancing the value of NSO data to policymakers and the public, identifying current contributions and gaps in climate-related statistics.

Prepared by a UNECE Task Force (2022–2024) and endorsed by the Conference of European Statisticians in June 2024, the report serves as a resource for NSO staff, data users, and international organizations, inspiring collaboration for effective climate action.
