The event will coincide with the unveiling of WHO’s Burden of disease attributable to unsafe drinking water, sanitation, and hygiene: 2019 update.

WHO routinely generates estimates on the disease burden resulting from unsafe water, sanitation, and hygiene. The most recent data, originally published in 2019 based on 2016 findings, have been revised and enhanced, adopting methodologies in line with Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) indicators. The estimates cover 183 WHO member countries and provide an update on various factors including region, age and sex.

The webinar will include a presentation of key findings and methodologies from the 2019 estimates, a case study from India, a panel representing WASH, health and environment organizations discussing the importance and practical applications of these data, and opportunities for questions and answers.
