New GLAAS white paper: Improving monitoring of the means of implementation for water and sanitation

The Global Analysis and Assessment of Sanitation and Drinking-Water (GLAAS) - a UN-Water programme implemented by the World Health Organization (WHO) and United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF) - has released a new white paper: “Improving monitoring of the means of implementation for water and sanitation”.

This new strategic assessment explores the progress and challenges in implementing and monitoring the Sustainable Development Goal 6 (SDG 6) targets through 2030 and beyond. It aims to enhance global monitoring strategies and facilitate more effective management of water and sanitation resources worldwide.

GLAAS, in collaboration with the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) and United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), monitors the means of implementation targets: SDG 6a and 6b.

GLAAS’ objective is to provide policy- and decision-makers at all levels with a reliable, easily accessible and comprehensive analysis of WASH systems to make informed decisions for sanitation, drinking-water and hygiene.
