IWRA: World Water Congress in 2025

The International Water Resources Association (IWRA), in partnership with Morocco's Ministry of Equipment and Water (MEE), have announced that the XIX World Water Congress will be held in Marrakech, Morocco, from December 1–5, 2025.

Under the theme “Water in a Changing World: Innovation and Adaptation”, the Congress will bring together global experts, policymakers, and stakeholders to tackle critical water challenges. This marks IWRA’s return to Morocco, following the successful VII Congress in Rabat in 1991.

The event will emphasize innovative solutions for managing water amid climate change and fostering resilience in interconnected systems like agriculture, energy, and natural ecosystems.

Following the success of the XVIII World Water Congress in Beijing in September 2023, which bridged key international events like the UN 2023 Water Conference in March 2023 and the 10th World Water Forum in Bali in May 2024, the XIX edition in Marrakech promises to continue to advance sustainable water management strategies for a better global water future.
