Informal Stakeholder Dialogue for Inputs to the Political Declaration of the 2023 SDG Summit

The 2023 SDG Summit will be convened on 18-19 September 2023, during the United Nations General Assembly high-level week. Heads of State and Government will gather at the United Nations Headquarters in New York to follow-up and review the implementation of the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development and the 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). They will carry out a comprehensive review of the state of the SDGs, respond to the impact of multiple and interlocking crises facing the world, and provide high-level political guidance on transformative and accelerated actions leading up to the target year of 2030 for achieving the SDGs.

The outcome of the 2023 SDG Summit, that marks the mid-point of the implementation of the 2030 Agenda, will be a negotiated political declaration. After an initial round of consultations with Member States as well as with major groups and other stakeholders, a ‘zero draft’ of the political declaration has been drafted. 

On 7 June 2023, UN DESA in collaboration with the UN SDG Action Campaign, will organize a virtual Informal Stakeholder Dialogue to create an opportunity for major groups and other stakeholders to share inputs to the Zero Draft Political Declaration for the SDG Summit. 

The SDG Summit 2023 - Informal Stakeholder Dialogue – Inputs to the Political Declaration Zero Draft will be organized on the 7 June 2023, from 9:00 - 10:30 am EDT (NY).
