AQUASTAT, FAO’s global information system on water and agriculture, was launched in the 1990s as a cornerstone of FAO’s water programme. Over the past three decades, it has provided comprehensive, reliable and up-to-date data and information on water resources use and management worldwide.

The agenda features high-level speakers and experts from FAO, the International Fund for Agricultural Development (IFAD), the UN Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization World Water Assessment Programme (UNESCO WWAP) and UN-Water, the coordination mechanism for the UN’s work on water and sanitation.

During the event, FAO and UN-Water will present the new UN System-wide Strategy for Water and Sanitation and its relevance for FAO’s mandate.

The event will take place on Friday, 4 April 2025, from 9.00 to 10.30 (CEST), at FAO Headquarters, Rome, Italy and online.

Proceedings will be in English with interpretation in Arabic, Chinese, French, Russian and Spanish.
