9th Africa Water Week: Placing Water and Sanitation at the Heart of Achieving Agenda 2063: The Africa We Want

Africa Water Week is co-organised biennially by the African Union Commission (AUC), the Secretariat of the African Ministers’ Council on Water (AMCOW), and the African Development Bank (AfDB) and partners. This 9th edition will evaluate progress in implementing the Africa WaterVision 2025, consolidate the gains and derive lessons for the future. It will be held from 13 to 17 October 2024 in Cairo, Egypt.

The organizers have issued a call for session proposals in line with the
themes and subject areas below:

  • Financing, investments and resource mobilisation.
  • Water supply, sanitation, hygiene, and wastewater. 
  • Water infrastructure for economic growth, climate resilience, and disaster risk reduction.
  • Water governance and institutions for managing and protecting water resources.
  • Information management and capacity development.
  • Gender equality and social inclusion.
