FAO and UNCCD launch briefing note on water security and combatting drought

Around 36% of the world’s population is currently living in water-scarce regions. A recently launched publication, by the United Nations Convention to Combat Desertification (UNCCD) and the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO), shows that avoiding, reducing and reversing land degradation have positive long-term gains in water security.
