United Nations Children's Fund (UNICEF)

UNICEF works in over 100 countries to help provide access to clean water and reliable sanitation and promote basic hygiene practices in rural and urban areas, including in emergencies. UNICEF also works directly with schools and health-care facilities to improve access to basic water, sanitation and handwashing facilities, and to establish protocols for preventing and controlling infections.
With over 700 WASH technical staff and programming in nearly all of the countries in the African continent, we are equipped to not only deliver climate-resilient water, sanitation and hygiene services, but also support Governments to achieve their national commitments in the sector.

Estimated budget for water and sanitation activities (USD):
500 million-1 billion
