Sanitation and Water for All (SWA)
Sanitation and Water for All (SWA) is a UN-hosted partnership focused on achieving universal access to water, sanitation, and hygiene, as outlined in Sustainable Development Goal 6 (SDG6). SWA unites diverse partners, including governments, utilities, donors, UN agencies, civil society, and the private sector, to address inequalities and support vulnerable populations, especially women and girls, as key agents of change.
To advance SDG6, SWA builds political will, fosters multistakeholder collaboration, and promotes effective investment strategies. Initiatives like High-Level Meetings and Heads of State Initiatives work to ensure that water and sanitation are prioritized on national and global agendas. The partnership's Mutual Accountability Mechanism enhances transparency, motivating all partners to fulfill their commitments and catalyze collective progress towards equitable access to essential water and sanitation services.
