Snapshot of Global and Regional Urban Water, Sanitation and Hygiene Inequalities

SRLA2011-0348

Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) 6 calls for universal access to water, sanitation and hygiene (WASH) services for all people wherever they are, including those living in urban areas.

In the world’s rapidly expanding cities and towns, this is becoming a major challenge.

The UNICEF report Snapshot of Global and Regional Urban Water, Sanitation and Hygiene Inequalities provides a snapshot of urban water, sanitation and hygiene (WASH) inequalities around the world, to present a clearer picture of the progress being made, as well as global and regional disparities. It describes where efforts are required to achieve the ambitious goal of leaving no one behind in access to WASH services in urban areas.
