New FAO report: The AquaCrop Model

FAO

The Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) have released a new report: The AquaCrop model: enhancing crop water productivity. Ten years of development, dissemination and implementation 2009-2019.

AquaCrop is the FAO crop-water productivity model. Over the past decade, AquaCrop has evolved while retaining its original scope: to be a dynamic tool accessible to several types of users, mainly practitioner-type end users, in different disciplines and for a wide range of applications. In addition, AquaCrop is now used by research scientists for analysis and conceptualization.

According to FAO, the new report provides valuable information about the relevance of the tools and a guidance for the improvement and development of the model, as well as for extending its applications to help the management and productivity of water resources.
