Food and agriculture systems at breaking point

Peacekeeping - UNMIT

The state of the world's land and water resources for food and agriculture: Systems at breaking point (SOLAW 2021), will be launched by the Food and Agricultural Organization of the United Nations (FAO) in December 2021.

During the launch event on 8 and 9 December 2021, FAO Land and Water Division will host presentations and discussions on key cross-cutting trends and global and regional perspectives on land, soil and water resources, which form the core of the global food system.

The main findings and recommendations of the SOLAW 2021 Report will be presented, which will stress the urgency of making the necessary transformations in our land, soil and water resources to cope with rapidly increasing pressures on these essential systems.

  • A detailed agenda will be available later in November, together with registration links and other relevant information, here.
