Raise public awareness on the importance of water and its conservation through a comprehensive national awareness programme targeting youth and women particularly “The Lebanese Center for Water Management and Conservation” (LCWMC) Lebanon
Advice on declaration for HRWS for ASEAN countries followed by thematic study with an emphasis on Rural Communities. Initially brought in as expert advisors, WaterLex has since been able to develop a long term programme adopted by all ten countries to assess their current situation with respect to SDG 6 and the HRWS, both from law and in practice.
SDG 1 (No poverty), SDG 5 (gender equality), SDG 10 (reduced inequalities). Poverty targeting, gender equality and empowerment are cornerstones of IFAD’s work to reduce rural poverty and food and nutrition insecurity. This puts people – rural women, men, youth and indigenous peoples – at the centre of IFAD’s development projects and policy engagement. This unique approach aims to support the development of inclusive, equitable, sustainable and resilient rural societies and agriculture sectors that are food secure and able to take advantage of the opportunities provided by growing markets, thus providing a springboard to rural transformation.
