ROLF STAHLHOFEN PERFORMS ‘WATER IS LIFE’ AT WWD 2011
UN-Habitat Messenger of Truth, Rolf Stahlhofen will perform Water is Life at the WWD 2011. Composed by Ralf to commemorate World Water Day 2011, the song will be performed at various occasions during 20 – 22 March 2011. |

JOURNALISTS TO ATTEND TRAINING WORKSHOP AT WORLD WATER DAY 2011
Nineteen journalists will be attending a journalists training workshop on Monday 21 March 2011 at the CTICC as part of the main event programme. The session will be convened by UN-Water Decade Programme on Advocacy and Communication (UNW-DPAC) and the United Nations Human Settlements Programme (UN-HABITAT). Sixty three international journalists from various organisations have already confirmed their attendance. |

REGISTRATION FOR WORLD WATER DAY 2011 OPENS ON SATURDAY 19 MARCH 2011
Registration for the World Water Day 2011 will open from 14:00 until 20:00 at the CTICC. Delegates will receive all necessary documentation and accreditation and will be assisted with general queries regarding the event. Registration points will be set-up outside the Ballroom, Level 1 of the CTICC. |

DAILY PERFORMANCES AT WORLD WATER DAY 2011
The WWD 2011 being held at the CTICC in Cape Town will have daily performances by artists well-known on the local jazz scene. Delegates attending the WWD 2011 fair, exhibition and conference will have the opportunity to hear artists such as Will's Jazz Collective, Keeno Lee, Matthew Moolman, K4, Chad Saaiman and Camillo. |

CAPE TOWN HOSTS WORLD WATER DAY 2011
Cape Town also known as the Mother City is one of South Africa’s premier tourist destinations. White sandy beaches compete with renowned wine estates set against a backdrop of one of the world’s most well-loved icons, Table Mountain. The Mother City will play host to the WWD 2011 exhibition, fair and conference from 20 – 22 March 2011. |

CONFERENCE HOTELS FULLY BOOKED FOR WORLD WATER DAY 2011
Hotels around the CTICC have been filled to capacity with delegations and visitors attending WWD 2011. It is expected that visitor numbers will reach +1100 people. Approximately 10 hotels in the vicinity of the CTICC have been sold out already. If you have not yet secured accommodation, and need assistance, since our staff has been able to book another hotel at 15 minutes walk from the CTICC you may contact the event organising team at randall.brenes@wwd2011.org |

WORLD WATER DAY 2011 REGISTRATION FIGURE HITS THE 1000 MARK
Tuesday 15 March 2011 was marked with close to 1000 registrations received for the WWD 2011. An overwhelming response has been received from delegates and organisations across 66 countries and spanning 4 continents. These include Afghanistan, Canada, Cameroon, India, USA, Yemen and Zimbabwe amongst many others. As the registration process reaches closure, there has been an increase in the number of people wanting to attend the event. |

CONFIRMATION OF ARTSISTS FOR PERFORMANCES AT WWD 2011
The WWD 2011 boasts a range of artists for the performance element of the event. Many well-known international and South African musicians and performers will entertain delegates and visitors throughout the official programme. Cooperation agreements have been established with the Cape Town Opera and the Cape Town Jazz Festival. Performances are scheduled from 20 March 2011 to 22 March 2011. |
