The presentation introduces the Sustainable Development Goal on water and sanitation (SDG 6) and its eight targets, outlining how the different targets contribute to the overall ambition to “ensure availability and sustainable management of water and sanitation for all”, highlighting interlinkages with other goals and targets across the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development. The indicators for tracking global progress towards SDG 6 are also presented, together with an overview of where and how the necessary data can be collected, using flexible methods that allow countries to enter global monitoring in line with their existing capacity and resources.

This presentation is part of the Integrated Monitoring Guide for SDG 6 - for more information about the Guide, please refer to the “Good practices for country monitoring systems”.
