Mr. Carlos Fernandez-Jauregui background in water issues spans 31 years, with wide-ranging experience as research
engineer, project officer for developing programmes, and director of an international research centre.
Almost
20 years of Mr. Fernandez-Jauregui's career has been with UNESCO, first as a Regional Hydrologist across Latin America and the
Caribbean, at the Regional Office for Science and Technology (ROSTLAC) in Montevideo, and the past 6 years
in Paris UNESCO HQ as Deputy Coordinator of the UN World Water Assessment Programme (WWAP).
He have been Coordinating of the 24 UN agencies for the preparation of the WWDR 1 and 2 + Case Studies and of activities on water matters for the LAC region.
